Dr Elaene Naicker is an honorary lecturer at University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). She completed her undergraduate medical degree (MBBCH) at the University of Witwatersrand and subsequent diploma in child health as well as her Paediatric Fellowship (FCPaedSA) at UKZN. She was awarded the International Paediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) scholarship and Discovery foundation scholarship for subspecialty training in pediatric nephrology. She completed her certificate in pediatric nephrology in 2010. She has to date pioneered and runs the only public paediatric chronic dialysis and transplant centre in Kwazulu-Natal.
